If the standard Google navigation software doesn't float your boat, you might want to give Route 66 a try. Its unique selling point is its Follow Me feature. It uses your phone's camera to display the road in front of you and then superimposes a lead car on top of it that shows you where to turn to keep you on your chosen route.
The supplied maps also include 3D renders of popular landmarks and maps can be downloaded to your device, making them available even if you don’t have a network signal. The software is free to use for 30 days, but after that you have to shell out hard cash if you want to keep the navigation features - although you'll still be able to view the maps and plan routes for free.
Route 66's interesting Follow Me augmented reality feature helps to set it apart from the competition.
