Firefox for Android has been around for some time now but it’s struggled to gain a foothold thanks to sluggish performance and poor integration with the native Android user interface (UI). With its latest iteration, arriving in the next couple of months, the company has finally addressed these issues giving it a much slicker look and feel.
It’s also now able to support web apps, allowing completely platform indepent web applications to interface with the phone’s camera, tilt sensor, mapping functions, notification system and more.
Mozilla was demoing the new software on some Samsung Galaxy Nexus devices here at MWC 2012. We got hands on and took load of pictures and a lengthy video of the new software, all of which you’ll find below.
