If "fast printing speeds, improved productivity and extensive data security" sound like something you fancy from a printer, Kyoceras latest batch may interest you. The inspiringly named FS-2020D, FS-2020DN, FS-3920DN and FS-4020DN may not be the prettiest of printers, but we're happy to overlook that in favour of some decent performance.

A time to first page between nine and 10.5 seconds and 35ppm to 45ppm print rates should keep the new Kyoceras from vexing their users with long waits. The ability to print PDF files from a USB stick, eliminating the need for a PC, could prove a boon, too.

All four printers sport 128MB of memory, faster processors (though than what is unhelpfully not said) and optimised toner. Security conscious would-be buyers will be pleased to know SSL encryption is featured.

Each printer also has a 500 sheet paper tray, with the FS-3920DN and FS-4020DN having supporting up to five extra. Pricing isn't mentioned, but that's a concern of your friendly local PA anyway, surely?

Bit more attractive than the models they replace, even greyer and boxier than these! Put a FS-3900DN in for a client with a 5k/month volume a year ago and it's served well, ge... more
