Kyocera has a pretty comprehensive range of printers, but apparently not enough as it has just bolstered that lineup with a further two monochrome models intended for home and small offices, named the FS-1100 and FS-1300D.

Both models boast the ability to churn out paper at a rate of 28ppm (at A4 size) and a pretty decent six second printing time, that is to say from the time you click print to the time your page is actually ready - not to shabby. Printing up to 1200dpi (for those really high-quality budget reports?) is offered and the two devices will hold 250 pages in their paper trays for anyone worried about such a spec.

Differentiating the two devices is the automatic duplexing ability of the FS-1300D as well as some increased economy. According to Kyocera's figures, the cost per page for consumables is 0.995p and 0.736p for the FS-1100 and FS-1300D respectively - presumably that's based on the suggested retail price of consumables so it might be even cheaper in the real world.

The printers also apparently sport easy to read LED status indicators, with a simple green for ready to print and red if there's a problem. Okay, it may not be a huge feature but who wants complications with an office printer? The printers also both have optional Ethernet connector modules which is a nice touch if you want it. In terms of price the FS-1100 will set you back £143 and the FS-1300D £183 which isn't exactly extortionate and both models are available right now - expect full reviews soon.
