Philips Azur GC4870/02

The Philips Azur GC4870/02 will get your through your pile of ironing in no time at all with the powerful iron proving easy to use and making creases vanish. Although it’s a bit on the pricey side, if you want something that delivers really high quality ironing then this might well be for you.

The reason it performs so well is that it has an Ionic Deepsteam function. With Ionic Deepsteam, the ionisation process creates steam particles 50 per cent smaller than normal meaning the heated water is able to reach much deeper into creases to smooth them out. This steam is also almost continuous, and you can even boost it for really bad wrinkles.

This improved steam function is truly excellent and helps get the creases out of almost anything — it’s even good on tough material such as cotton and linen. Using this steam function will get the creases out of practically everything.

With a SteamGlide PLUS soleplate, the Philips Azur GC4870/02 is also easy to use. Designed to hit that perfect balance between gliding over clothes smoothly and stretching the creases out, the SteamGlide PLUS soleplate helps hit this balance with its easy-glide zone and perfect-stretch zone.

What’s more, you won’t have to worry about safety with such a big, powerful iron, either — the Philips Azur GC4870/02 will automatically switch off if left unattended for too long so you don’t have to worry about it burning the house down or accidentally burning inquisitive little hands.

A slight area for concern for those looking at the Philips Azur GC4870/02 is that it’s quite heavy, so if you’re a delicate little thing you might not be able to work it so well. It is easy to manoeuvre, though, so unless you’re really weak it should still be ok.
