Logitech is continuing the relentless march of regular product-range-refreshes, introducing yet another universal remote - the Harmony 900 - and a keyboard and mouse combo - the Wireless Desktop MK700.

Taking cues from the G15 and G19 gaming keyboards, the example in the MK700 package features an LCD - albeit a fairly simple one. In fact, displaying as it does only battery, caps lock, FN, scroll lock, num lock and mute statuses it hardly seems worth the effort over a set of LEDs. Of more real world use, one suspects, will be the concave shaping to the keyboards keys, purported to cradle the user's fingers making typing extra comfortable.

The mouse in the MK700 bundle featured an ergonomically contoured shape and a scrollwheel that can be switched between a more common ‘ratchet' style action, or Logitech's hyper-scrolling.

The Harmony 900 is almost certainly a more interesting creation. Overcoming one of the main annoyances of other Harmony devices, the 900 operates using RF, with a main ‘IR Blaster' and two ‘Mini Blasters' communicating with the devices to be controlled. The advantages are pretty obvious, foremost the Harmony 900 can be used out of line-of-sight and second devices in different locations can be controlled with the same remote. Useful if you have your Blu-ray player, Sky box and so forth inside a cabinet as it won't need to be opened to use the remote.

At £299 the Harmony 900 isn't exactly cheap, but it is cool, so that's okay, right?
