Peripheral manufacturer Razer has two new products here in Vegas, the Mamba gaming mouse and the bizarrely titled Carcharias gaming headset.

Starting with the Mamba, it appears to be a modified version of the DeathAdder mouse. First of all it is wireless, using 2.4GHz RF and an integrated battery that offers an impressive 14 hours of continuous gaming, or 72 hours of 'normal' gaming. It features DPI and battery life indicators and the 3.5G Laser sensor offers up to 5,600 DPI - just in case you need the reactions of a squirrel on steroids.

It also boasts a 1ms response time and on-board memory, so you can carry your settings wherever you get your game on. However its most alluring characteristic, particularly for a 'wireless' mouse, is that the Mamba also comes with a detachable seven-foot cable. This is bound to please gamers with distaste for wireless mice, but also ensures you can fall back on the cable when you run out of juice.

Available from February 2009, the Mamba will carry a 129.99 Euro SRP.

Joining the Mamba mouse is the Carcharias headset. It'll retail for 79.99 Euros and will be available from January on Razer's own webstore. It is an over-ear (circumaural) headset and offers interchangeable earpads for customising the fit and a fully adjustable headband. Its microphone has 'noise filtering' and there's also an inline remote for controlling volume and the microphone. See below for the full-specs.

Headphone:
  • Frequency Response: 20 - 20,000 Hz
  • Impedance: 32 at 1kHz
  • Sensitivity (@1kHz, 1V/Pa): 102 ± 4dB at 1 kHzMax.
  • Input Power: 200 mW
  • Drivers: 40 mm, with neodymium Magnets

Microphone:
  • Frequency Response: 50 - 16,000 Hz
  • Sensitivity( @1kHz, 1V/Pa): -37 ± 4dB
  • Signal-to-Noise Ratio: 50 dB
  • Pick-up pattern: Unidirectional
  • Cable: 3 meters, Braided Fiber Sheath
  • Connector: 3.5 mm jack (headphone and mic)

Looks good and the stats are great, but a £130 mouse (since £/E are at virtual partity)? Fail.
