We like iHome, the iH5 is the best iPod dock I’ve seen to date and the iH26 is the best portable one so these two new products have a lot to live up to…

First up is the iCH5 which is very much in the mould of the iH5 and iH26 in that it is a music player dock with clock radio functionality but the important addition here is Bluetooth.

The integration of the mobile phone’s most ubiquitous connectivity means the iCH5 can also stream music from any Bluetooth enabled handset, laptop or PC. Furthermore it can also operate as a speakerphone for incoming and outgoing calls. Very nifty indeed.

Secondly I have stumbled across the iH21, an iPod dock with matching speakers that can stream the content of your player all over the house. iHome clearly thinks the bathroom will be a big hit (splash?) too since it has made the speakers water resistant. They also work directly with the supplied remote to control your iPod.

Obviously this is iHome’s attempt to muscle in on Apple’s Airport Express solution so even though I don’t have info on cost or availability I expect it to price favourably. The iCH5 also remains shorn of an RRP and release at the moment but I’m thinking post New Year purchase rather than Chrimbo pressie.
