Our devices may be getting ever smaller but the power supplies we still have to lug around with them aren't. Perhaps this is the answer…

From the aptly named ‘ReCharge’ comes the ReCharge4, a reusable 4800mAh smart battery from which you can charge your device up to four times from a single charge. It measures 250 x 170 x 90mm and weighs 360g with its battery coming in at 120g

So what can you use with it? On the mobile phones side Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and Samsung models are all compatible. Creative, Apple, iRiver and any player that charges over USB makes the grade and the PSP, DS, DS Lite, GBA, GBA SP and Gameboy Micro

The catch is currently ReCharge is only selling the ReCharge4 in three separate packs: ‘Mobile Phone’, ‘Portable Gaming Device’ and ‘MP3 Player’. Obviously no one is going to want to buy what is essentially the same smart battery three times just to power their full complement of devices – that destroys the point of the product – but having spoken to ReCharge I was told that separate cables are likely to be made available.

So if you’re on the move regularly and without easy access to power points this may be just the product you need. Grab one now for £39.99 from the company’s site.

Update: We've got word through ReCharge will definitely be selling all the individual leads and connectors when its new site goes live in two weeks. It also reports TomToms are officially compatible, result!
