Traditionally electronics are bought to compliment our home furnishings, but LG has just made a case to reverse that scenario.

In creating the ‘Beautiful Black Kitchen’ the company has taken a leaf out of its incredibly successful Chocolate mobile phone series and introduced a sumptuous range of high tech appliances.

First up is the world’s first ever eco-friendly steam washing machine. This Energy Saving Trust endorsed product has been rated as A++ for energy efficiency and claims to use 35 per cent less water and 21 per cent less energy than a conventional machine. It has a ‘Steam Direct Drive’ which is connected directly to the drum to significantly reduce noise and vibration levels while a 20 minute ‘refresh programme’ uses steam to remove creases from garments making it possibly the greatest invention since the wheel.

Next we come to the ‘SolarDOM‘ which combines radiant heat and halogen lightening to cook the inside and outside of food simultaneously. LG says this helps to conserve nutrition and moisture and increase energy efficiency by up to 50 per cent. The dual action also means to can cook up to 3x faster than a conventional microwave.

Lastly we have the refrigerator. I know what you’re thinking: “These appliances are all crazy, whatever can they do to a fridge?!” Well again it is a combination of style and technology since the black mirrored doors and finish actually house a ’Trim Kit’ which includes antibacterial features Bioshield and Biosilver. These work with the ‘Moist Balance Crisper’ to ensure optimum food preservation and make me thankful that I normally only need to write about relatively simple technologies by comparison like motherboard chipset features and RAM module speed configurations.

No release date or pricing has appeared for this uber-desirable collection yet, but any combo that can divide your cooking time in three, remove the need to clean the fridge and let you throw away your iron has got to be worth donating your soul…
