Despite being somewhat underwhelmed overall when we finally got to have a proper play with the [linkohttp://www.trustedreviews.com/pcs/review/2009/05/22/Shuttle-XVision-X50-All-In-One-Atom-330-PC/p1 ut:Shuttle Xvision X50], we still liked the concept and felt it was merely the software side of things that was lacking. So, to have a smaller version of the same design pop up is still something to pique our interest.

The Shuttle XVision X30, then, really is just a mini version of the X50. As such it has the same all-in-one nettop design with the same neat carry handle-cum-stand on the back, touchscreen round the front, and connections down the sides. The key difference is the screen is 10.2inches across rather than 15.6.

We actually see this having potentially even more uses than the X50, due to its smaller design. After all, if you're going to have a small second PC that's only going to be for occasional use, you might as well have it as small as possible.

In related news, Shuttle has also finally added some custom software to its Xvision range, giving the sort of one-touch finger-friendly access to programs and files that was so lacking in the original version. It's nothing compared to the slick interface found on Asus' EeeTops but it's enough to make using a finger to controls these machines bearable. Shuttle was also demonstrating its XVision PCs running Windows 7, which already has a much more finger-friendly on screen keyboard. Combined with its new interface, this could really make the XVision range a tempting proposition.
