That's certainly a keen price and probably enough to get me to purchase. I've been eyeing these since announcement and coupled with the NAS we have at home would make perfect sense for me - we could end the dominance of the noisy xbox 360 as our media extender.

I've read elsewhere that the SSD will be replaced by a 160GB HDD at the same price point once stocks of the SSD model have been sold. Given it comes with Ubuntu, that's enough to get my credit card out.

my question is whether the 8gb ssd is a 2.5" form factor so we could swap it out for a standard notebook drive if we wanted... i'm v tempted by one of the linux boxes at that price!

Heard you the first time ChaosDefinesOrder :-), according to Bit Tech it is very easy to open and upgrade the Revo: (with pictures)

Looks like a standard 2.5" drive to me! With regards to the price I am still a little disappointed that essentially the most useful version is £299 which is more than I would be wanting to pay, but I am interested in the seperate remote which you can buy, I wonder if you can use them with a different HTPC? And if they come with the selection of games?

don't blame me, the moderator approved the accidentally repeated comment! hmm I wonder if the cost of the base Revo plus a large lappy drive will work out cheaper than the vista boxes...

Im thinking the base model, with a seperate remote and a copy of Windows 7 Beta hits quite a nice sweet spot! :-) Especially with a NAS....

"Every Revo comes with a VESA mount in the box" It's a shame that a lot of monitors nowadays don't have VESA mounts on the back.
