see THIS is why Windows has a 98% share of the netbook/nettop market: Linux machine has 8GB storage (HUH WTF?) while Windows version has 160GB storage.

Where's the Linux version with 160GB storage?

Windows is so popular because Linux is a dog unless you're a geek who likes fiddling with software for fun.
If you're that cut up about it, buy the Windows machine with the spec you want and install the flavour of Linux you want; just like Linux users have since time immemorial.
...that way you can be sure you won't have to write posts about how they've 'chosen the wrong distro in the bundle'.

The computers themselves look marvellous (regardless of what OS they have).
Personally, I'd go for the 1GB RAM/8GB SSD, throw openSUSE or Ubuntu on it and have it plugged into my home network for access to my NAS for videos (VLC) and music (Songbird).
But then I am a geek who is prepared to put the effort in to make it work: I'd heartily encourage new users to stick with Windows so that they can get the best out of the system from a familiar point-of-view.
Oh and those games will actually WORK with Windows.

Attractive and neat no doubt but for that money I'll buy an Xbox or a PS3 for games and if I want to do some actual work an Atom paired with Vista ain't gonna cut it. I've done the PC connected to the main TV idea for photos/videos/games/music etc and whilst it may be great for the sad and lonely if somebody in your family actually wants to watch the telly then you're stuffed. You can't do anything.

For the Linux enthusiast I think it probably is best to buy the Windows machine and put the distro you want on it. And when you come to sell it you can just stick Windows back on it which will get you a better price and more punters to aim at.

Am a bit disappointed in the price that play.com have listed, especially since I had ready that the price would be 299 DOLLARS!

I was mostly interested in getting one for a cheap HTPC. Add a DVB-S or DVB-S2 USB receiver and combined with the wireless remote you have quite a small and quiet HTPC that can pick up BBC HD. You could even plug in a USB Blu-Ray Drive if you wanted, but at £299 its more than I would want to pay unfortunatly :-(
