If they added a twin digital TV tuner with record capability it would finally hit the spot as a pretty cool media PC. Without it it is hobbled.

a Mac Mini capable of playing 1080p bluray rips would be excellent news!

It'll get a little bit smaller, unibody, and the white top facia may even get a black refresh.
I wanna see more than Mac Mini's come out of MacWorld '09.
@ timple - don't get your hopes up. It won't happen.

@timple - this would encroach on the apple TV line, putting a TV tuner in the mac mini. My hope is that they see some of these larger SSDs coming out (128GB? - we can only dream) - and shove that in an ipod touch. That would be nice.

@ Shaun - I also know it wont happen but WHY? EVERYBODY is wanting decent capacity Ipod touches and in this day and age its not toooo much to ask which begs the question...
Apple obviously isnt listening to market research; is this because they are too dumb or because they are too pig headed? Either way the customer is right and in this case Apple is wrong.

I survived long enough with a 4GB iPhone even using Apple Lossless rips - it just requires a bit of selectivity with music choice. I honestly can't think of a time when 32GB wouldn't be sufficient, that's 70-odd Lossless albums and probably over 300 at 320kbps MP3 at a guess. Not that I wouldn't like to see the current devices come down in price a little.

Perhaps if you had more than 32GB of music and wanted to carry it with you?
Hell, I was disappointed when Apple discontinued the 160GB iPod, because that was the only player that came close to touching my collection. Now I have to piss about with playlists constantly.

@Darfuria - I really don't get why anyone really needs to carry 32 GIGABYTES of music let alone 160GB! That's a huge huge amount. I have an 90GB library and that's about 2 months of continuous listening, no need for that in my pocket. Besides, it's a nightmare searching through that much content even on a desktop!
16GB does me fine and is a sweet spot. I enjoy regularly swapping tracks around to keep things fresh and using half the capacity for video.

I have 25GB of audio podcasts.. I can't/don't want to delete them. As I haven't listened to some of them and the feeds are dead, especially BBC ones. It's a pain in the ass to update them and get the one's I want loaded on to the ipod. Once you throw audio books, video, music... 32GB just isn't enough. Sure you can use playlists and slectively pick things to put on it. But it would be nice to just sync it and not worry about any of that.

I've also never understood the obsession with carrying around every piece of music that an individual has ever owned. As a conservative etimate, I have around 400 cds (not including vinyl) that are loaded on to my imac, and I'm probably only actively listening to 3/4 of those at a time, with a few podcasts and episodes of whichver TV show I'm currently watching. I like to see my main computer as the hub of my collection, with my ipod as a satelite, just picking the things off that I'm listeing to or watching at that particular time for any business trip or my daily commute. I got to 8 gb touch and stopped there.
