I'd buy an original Eee box if it came with Linux rather than Windows.

but... linux is free! What's to stop you installing it?

Can't remember where I saw it, most likley Gizmodo, but it was Asus or a similar company which has bought out a small flat (netbook size) PC which you can stick at the back of you LCD screen. I thought that was a genius of an idea as I have two old (14", 19") LCD screens which I would get peanuts if I tried to sell, but dont mind getting one of these stick-on PCs so I can use the my old LCDs as PCs in the kitchen, etc.

Ash, I think this is the very thing you are talking about. It comes with a bracket to install it onto the back of any VESA compatible monitor i think. Look here under the 'Zero footprint' section: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASUS_Eee_Box

Yes, Linux is free. I object to having to pay the Microsoft tax up front.

Here is the link to the article I was taking about.. http://gizmodo.com/5099867/msi-wind-box-converts-any-vesa-monitor-into-all+in+one-computer

Its a MSI Wind Box... genius product!

Ash: That idea has been availible for years, part of the problem with it is that many monitors block off the VESA mounts with their own custom stand attachments so you can't mount the PC between the monitor and stand.
