Yes, had a quick look and I don't get it, for that price I may as well by the laptop.

yeah, that'd be about right... "being british tax" at its finest...

'Being British' Tax aside you gotta be happy with their choice of Core2 over Atom.... At least it will have usable performance.

Wasn't on the site when I wrote this. That's both Value Added (US prices are pre-tax) and Being British Taxes sadly.

Finally a decent, good looking, Windows equivalent to the mac mini (and one that doesn't try and ape its style). Good to see a firewire port too, along with a slightly better GPU then the mini. The £399 basic option only gets you a Celeron processor though. It's an extra £45 for a Core 2 Duo.

Hopefully it will be eligible for the Vista Premium downgrade to XP. It's a nice looking box.

How is it that Cnet.com already has a review and a video up..?
Oh that's right...

Just wondering, can we expect to see a review of this PC in TR soon, now that it's available for sale?

I'm gonna go with "because it's been out in the States before the UK"...

Really? I thought it came out on July 29th in all sorts of countries. Huh, guess I'm wrong then. Thank you for correcting me!
Well I hope you guys get one in soon for a review, love to get the low down. Looks like the most feature laden mini pc around.

Dell do generally prioritise the US when it comes to review allocation. It's just the nature of things I'm afraid. Actually, we have a very good relationship with Dell despite the M1730, but there are plenty of other people besides us who want stuff.

Hmmm, now that is a nice looking bit of kit....

Just checked it out, looks really nice. Perfect for the back to school crowd. But if that were me again, I'd probably buy a netbook. Just for the portability and the price. Technology just keeps getting smaller and smaller! Can't wait for cell phones from Zoolander to be hitting the shelves! :)
In all honesty though, that was a terrible movie...

You mention a starting price of £250... but its £399 on Dell's UK website, thats a mark-up of £149 for people in UK!
