excellent - I was very interested in the last version as a kitchen/diner pc
however I was put off by HP's obsession with underpowered AMD cpus that could not handle hd video files.

the Intel CPU should be enough for most work - although bit disappointed at the use of the T5750 - they should have used the Penryn based T8100 with its 800mhz FSB and 3Mb Cache.

the X3100 video should be fine but will use a chunk of that 4Gb memory - which makes the 64bit OS a bit less useful

according to Engadget specs are:
http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/10/hp-slips-into-thin-with-touchsmart-2-all-in-ones/

HP announces the $1,299 TouchSmart IQ504 (PC) and $1,499 TouchSmart IQ506 (PC with TV tuner). Arguably, the thinner, touchier, bigger, 22-inch all-in-ones deserve better. Inside the 2.6-inch thick chassis you'll find a 500GB disk, 256MB of NVIDIA GeForce 9300 M HS HD graphics, 802.11n WiFi, and 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo T5850 processor thumping through the cycles. Launching in 17 countries next month including the UK, Japan, and the US

so is this a case of UK downgrade + price inflation...???
please let us know TR...

Have no idea yet, but will endeavour to find out. Often the worst place to find out these sorts of things is at the launch event - paradoxical but true. I can now confirm, however, that it's expected to launch at around £1099inc vat in august or September.

As an aside, had a quick play with the interface and it is slick as hell. Expect hands-on impressions soon...

Thanks Andy - look forward to more info and your impressions when you get it

I was looking at the HP USA website - it seems the IQ504 has the specs of the model you have seen. However it is listed at $1299(+ tax) which means approx £400 'tax' on top for the privilege of buying one in the UK....grrr

Two bits of info I cant find however - the screen resolution (although most 22"ers are 1680x1050) and what video out port there is. I sure hope there is audio capable HDMI that would be ideal for connection to the TV as well...

I took a whole load of pics for the hands-on, including outputs, so you'll find out sooner rather than later. ;)
