Shuttle Jumping On The Linux Bandwagon Too

TrustedReviews NewslettersWe've already seen Dell, Lenovo and Acer opt to offer Linux installs on their systems and today we see Shuttle joining the party. Normally thought of in terms of its range of barebones small form factor systems, the company does also offer pre-configured machines, so the move isn't as strange as it might at first appear.
The particular flavour of Linux on offer is SUSE, a business-orientated distribution provided by Novell, so it probably won't suit the average home user. A fair few large businesses run SUSE server installs though, so having desktops that play nicely will be a bonus. Both Enterprise and openSUSE versions of the Linux OS are available, the former of which does actually have a price-tag attached.
As ever only time will tell just how popular these new systems will be, but certainly no-one can complain about being given the option to have a non Windows operating system pre-installed on their system - Richard Stallman would doubtless approve.
