With the OS war heating up (or at least inching its way towards lukewarm given Microsoft has a 95 per cent plus market share) Apple has announced when and where the world can get its first official gawp at Leopard.

The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC, which in my opinion should have an apostrophe) that runs from 7 – 11 August is when the veil of secrecy/undergarments of non-disclosure/brazier of privacy will be torn away.

To date little has been revealed about Leopard by the Feline Obsessed White Fetishist (do the dozy few of you who always email me get where the nickname comes from yet?) but we can make a good stab at some elements 10.5 – to give Leopard its official and boring name – will contain. The introduction of tabs, inbuilt Boot Camp support, a native Bittorent client and better optimisation with dual core processors seem fairly logical while rampant graphics card stressing 3D a la Vista seems inevitable. As for a release date, do we will really need to look more than a month either side of Microsoft’s next gen OS?

At WWDC two years ago Jobsy gave punters their first titillating glimpse of Tiger (above). If you want to be first in line to this time around a ticket to the event costs $1,595 ($300 discount for early registration)…

…ok, so you’ll just wait for our report…
