Also on display was the HP Media Center m1000 Photosmart PC. This is an evolution of HP’s original Media Center PC, and has some distinct advantages over other solutions.
Built in a fairly standard size midi-tower case, this machine features a docking cradle on the top for an HP digital camera. This means that if you want to transfer your images or charge your camera up, you can simple drop it in the dock. If you don’t have an HP camera, there’s a memory card reader just below the dock for transferring your images.
The second rather innovative feature is something that HP calls the Personal Media Drive. This is an option on the Media Center PCs, and is a removable hard disk, that lives inside the PC chassis. Basically, this drive can just be used like a second hard disk, but you can then hot-eject it and connect it to any other PC via USB 2.0.

The Media Center PC will come in a variety of configurations, with both nVidia and ATI graphics solutions on offer. All units will ship with a dual-layer DVD writer, so you’ll be able to burn your home movies to disc and bore your friends when you visit them.
Of course you get a Media Center remote control as well as a wireless keyboard and optical mouse. TrustedReviews will have a review of the Media Center m1000 Photosmart as soon as HP sends one over.
