Introduction

The last time we saw a new manufacturer enter the printer market was when Kodak introduced it inkjet all-in-ones. Now there’s a new laser printer marque, called Pantum, produced by Chinese company, Seine Technology. You may have already used Seine’s printer consumables, without knowing it, if you choose to buy compatibles rather than OEM products.

Pantum’s P-2000 mono laser is an entry-level device intended as a personal printer on a desktop. With its covers and trays folded shut, it’s still quite large, compared with a machine like the https://www.trustedreviews.com/samsung-ml-2165w_Printer_review Samsung ML-2165W.

Pantum P-2000 – Design

The machine has a white case, but with mid-grey side panels and bar across the top of the front panel. There’s a black version, the P-2050, is you prefer. The front cover pulls down to make the main feed tray, though there’s a single-sheet multi-purpose feed just above the main feed, too.
Pantum P-2000 - Controls
The controls are very simple, with just two indicators for paper out and error and a single button for Cancel and Continue jobs. At the back are two sockets, one for mains power and the other for USB, the only data connection on the machine.

Most control comes from the driver, which offers multiple pages per sheet, poster printing and watermarks, but not a lot else. There’s only manual duplex available, an option which displays instructions for re-feeding paper by hand.
