Very informative review, thank you! One observation though: you describe the projector as being a "hugely tantalising product for its price point"...but how much more tantalising would it be I wonder, if we weren't being ripped-off due to tune of £750 or so by Panasonic's UK pricing? In the US, the AE4000 goes for just $1999. Even adding on VAT, we're still paying £500 over the odds.
I agree with you on the er, styling John. Perhaps its brick shaped so it can be built into the wall ;)
But seriously Panasonic get with the century! Whilst I have to admit my PJ is up there hanging from the ceiling almost invisible. I also don't want some shapely ominous leviathan hanging there like an obese spider - but many manage a semblance of some sort of style. Its just a shame that the value for money feature set does not include looks - this alone has put me off in the past...and sadly, today it continues Panasonic!
I like the design of PT-AExxxx very much. It's timeless and a little bit industrial (it feels very solid). Those piano-black plastic PJs will look totally horrible after a few years.
Great Review I plan to purchase a projector in the coming months and hopefully the price might have dropped by then .I see Richer Sounds at this moment selling this projector for £1899.95. Keep a close eye to there website, price might even drop further.Gerald
