Personally, I think the 3:2 screen is a nice change, as I predominantly shoot in that aspect ratio. I suppose it's also better for people who print a lot of 6x4" photos for albums, and are disappointed when they've all been cropped!
Btw, you've said "If you decide to shoot in 16:9 to utilise the full area of the screen" - a typo I think? :)

I bought this cam based on your review, and man have I been disappointed. At 16MP, there is so much noise throughout! In many places, it looks as if someone has put a fork through the pictures.
My earlier zoom is a venerable Fujufilm Finepix S5800, and that surpassed the FZ60 in sharpness all throughout my initial tests. Look at the picture of the flowers, its full of noise, and poor focus at ISO100! Even the others have visible noise at ISO 100 in good light levels. How can you guys claim that the FZ60 has "good image quality" and others like the HS20/HX200V have noise problems?
As of now, the only solution I have found is to pull back the res to 10MP or 7MP and increase NR by +1.
Please try and be more objective and critical in your reviews, rather than try to promote one product against another.

Thank goodness it's not just me! I bought this camera based on the excellent reviews and was sorely disappointed by noise and purple fringing on just about every setting

I've had this for 8 months.
Now It wont turn off unless I remove batteries also the zoom only works sometimes & the C1 defaults to movie....unable to change.
