The Panasonic HC-X900 provides lots of smaller improvements over the previous generation, rather than any particular sea change in design. But that's no bad thing, as the core features of a three-CMOS sensor system combined with comprehensive manual control via a lens ring and standard-sized accessory shoe were already missing nothing for the enthusiast videomaker. The new model adds AVCHD 2.0 support, further improved image stabilisation, an enhanced optional 3D lens converter, and even sharper video quality. So the HC-X900 replaces its predecessor as our premium camcorder of choice.
