Colours of Autumn

Waterfalls and streams proved to be another popular genre in this month's theme, as shown by this striking image from Markos Berndt of Milwaukee, USA. This was another of my favourite shots this month. Markos has used a 30-second exposure to produce the smooth flowing effect of the falling water.

Our next picture is another long exposure shot, this time of 4.5 seconds, from designer Martin Smith of Sheffield, UK. He has managed to capture not just the falling water, but also the movement of the leaves caught in the swirling whirlpool below.

Chris Mole of West Sussex, UK, is one of our most prolific entrants, and a past winner of two previous months. This month he put his EOS 40D to good use to capture this colourful shot of Sheffield Park Garden.
