Home / Opinions / Home PC Roundup / Conclusion

There are many things to take into account when you’re about to buy a new PC, but the most important one is to look at what you will use it for.

You can spend a lot of money buying the wrong equipment, which will leave you frustrated the day you want to do something that your computer is not capable of.

This is why it makes sense to do some research beforehand and find out what is available and what you get for your money. The machines on test might not suit all your needs, but offer a good compromise and a great set of features.

Looking back at the idea behind this group test, we were looking for a well rounded system that would be able to cope with everything a demanding home would need and we have little doubt that the Evesham Axis 2800+ is the ideal choice.

It offers one of the most versatile graphics cards available, a fast processor, a large hard drive, a good sound system and is a solid well built machine. This is the kind of system we expected to see and it should definitely be on your shortlist if you’re about to buy a new PC.

If the Evesham doesn’t appeal to you and you want something a little bit faster, then there is little choice apart from the JAL Capricorn 3000 as this is easily the fastest system on test. It’s built using quality components, but we hope that JAL will change its choice of case in the future for something a bit more appealing.

JAL did however impress us so much that we could not deny giving the Capricorn 3000 our Recommended award.

Interesting article. I've been researching mesh software and still have some questions. This post helped answer some of them, thanks for sharing.
