April is a month of change. Here in the North it's the first month of Spring. The weather is starting to get warmer, nature is waking up, and the longer days mean more time to take photos. Meanwhile in the South Summer is coming to an end, and Autumn is starting, with its rich colours and unpredictable weather. Our theme this month reflects this contrast, and should provide a challenge for all you keen photographers out there. You'll find the details on the next page.
In case you haven't seen our photography competition before, here's a quick recap of the details and the prizes on offer. Each month we provide a theme for your photographs and a closing date, and it is your task to go out and take photographs that match that theme, and then send them to us before the deadline. At the end of the month myself and the rest of the TR editorial team - most of whom are keen photographers - will study the entries and pick the winners based on our judgement. The best entries will be shown on the site at the end of the month.
There will be three prize winners each month, and thanks to our generous sponsors we've got some fantastic prizes for you. I hope to have some news later this week about some great new prizes this month, but until I receive confirmation they'll have to remain a tantalizing mystery, and I'll announce an update to this page as soon as I have more news. In the meantime, here are some of our other great prizes to whet your appetite.
