11 best Galaxy Note 7 cases, covers and screen protectors

Best Galaxy Note 7 cases, covers and screen protectors: 11 accessories to protect your shiny new Samsung phablet.

As you probably know, Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy Note 7, a stylus-packing big sibling to the brilliant Galaxy S7. If you’re going to cough up some £700 on a Note 7, though, you’re going to want to make sure your S Pen-holding pride and joy is protected against a range of mishaps.

WATCH: Samsung Galaxy Note 7 review

Sure, the waterproof Note 7 might be one of Samsung's most robust devices to date – it's IP68 certified, no less – but drop it onto concrete and it'll look more like a piece of expressionist art than a premium handset.

Fortunately, there are plenty of Note 7 cases and screen protectors out there to help you keep your powerhouse new phablet looking fine beyond the inevitable first fumble.

Here's our pick of some of the best – all prices are correct as of August 22, 2016.

Stunning QHD display? Check. Oodles of power? Sorted. Handy S Pen stylus? Yep. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 really does seem to have it all – apart from an integrated metal kickstand for easy media viewing and spreadsheet browsing, of course.

That’s where the VRS Design High Pro Shield case comes in. As well as hands-free landscape functionality, the case – which is available in four colours – boasts military-grade drop protection, with TPU layers to keep the beautiful curved edges of the Note 7's screen safe whilst preserving its premium in-hand feel.

Keeping the Note 7's stunning, curvaceous screen scratch-free doesn’t need to involve carrying it around inside a spare sock when not in use (although that might help). This tempered-glass screen protector from SuperStore Electronics will keep your handset’s market-leading panel as crisp and clear as the day you took it out of the box, even when car keys and gravel have joined the party.

As well as being scratch resistant, this hard-wearing screen protector can withstand its fair share of knocks, while the 'oleophobic' coating helps keep grubby fingerprint smears to a minimum, making it a good all-rounder at a fair price point.

The Galaxy Note 7’s 12-megapixel camera might be one of the best we’ve ever seen squeezed into a handset, and with this case, you can take your smartphone-based snapper skills to lofty new levels.

As well as adding knock and drop protection with a non-slip case that closely hugs the Note 7's lovely curves, Samsung’s official Lens Cover lets you screw in extra lenses for DSLR-worrying camera skills – the telephoto zoom lens helps you get closer to the action without sacrificing clarity, while the wide-angle add-on lets you see more of what's going on.

It's one of the pricier options, for sure, but could save you big in the long run.

The Galaxy Note 7 may well be the ultimate business phone, but what if you still crave a BlackBerry-style physical keyboard? There's a solution, and it doesn't involve going back to the Dark Ages.

Samsung’s official Note 7 Keyboard Cover might not offer much by way of drop protection or stylish enhancements, but in terms of productivity-boosting practicality, it’s without rival.

Slotting on to the base of the phone, the physical QWERTY keyboard allows you to effortlessly up your typing game, whether you're firing off emails or using your preferred UC platform.

It'll be available to buy direct from Samsung any day now. Based on comparable products for the S7 and S7 Edge, we'd expect it to sell for between £35-50.

A classy phone deserves a classy case, and that’s where the Caseology Envoy series comes in.

There are five different flavours on offer, from Cherry Oak to Beige, all of which bring a stylish, easy-on-the-eye finish complete with durable polycarbonate bumper to keep the phone protected against accidental knocks and drops.

If you’ve just dropped £700 on a Galaxy Note 7, your bank balance might not be looking too pretty, so chances are you won’t want to fork out another sizeable sum on a case.

Enter the affordable but drop-friendly MoKo Premium case. Its dual-layer construction gives you drop protection and shock absorption on the cheap, with the added bonus of a stealthy wallet-style card holder to house your plastic.

It’s not just the Note 7’s body you need to keep protected – that beautiful 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display is far too easy on the eye to be damaged by unsightly scuffs and scratches.

That’s where a decent screen protector comes in, and you can set yourself up for the foreseeable future by grabbing a pair from Spigen. Just apply directly to the screen and forget about the coins in your pocket – your precious new phablet is safe.

It might seem like a shame to bulk out your sexy new Note 7 with such an imposing case, but if you're looking for something that's as suited to a building site as it is to a dance floor, then this heavy-duty Armorbox accessory is for you.

The double-layer design combines a polycarbonate hard-shell exterior with a flexible TPU inner core to protect against nearly all regular drops, while the fitted belt clip lets you secure your device without sacrificing accessibility.

For all its smarts, stunning screen and super-powered stylus, the Note 7 still lacks the one phone feature we'd covet over all others – a week-long battery life.

That's not happening any time soon, sadly, but you don't have to settle for your phone's built-in battery life – with Samsung's official Backpack case, you can supplement the Note 7's (admittedly sizeable) 3,500mAh cell with an extra 3,100mAh worth of juice.

Say goodbye to the days of running out of power on the evening commute and, if the extra lifespan isn't enough of a sell, the Backpack is fully waterproof to boot.

The Galaxy Note 7 is as attractive as smartphones come, so it seems a shame to cover it in layer after layer of plastic and rubber. Protecting your phablet against daily wear and tear doesn't have to take away from its stylish design, however, as this svelte transparent case from Spigen proves.

Belying its discreet design, it offers military-grade drop protection with raised lips that fit neatly around the Note 7's curved screen edges and camera lens, for added safety. There are also tactile button covers for ease of use, plus socket and S Pen cut-outs to ensure accessibility.

As handy as Samsung's integrated S Health app is, the Note 7 isn't the most portable device around – and certainly not something you'd want to stash in your running shorts before a training session.

Enter the Supcase Note 7 armband, which lets your shiny new phablet become part of your fitness regime without weighing you down or putting your latest mobile investment at risk.

The velcro strap is adjustable to your ever-growing muscles, while washing-machine-friendly materials mean you don't have to worry about working up a healthy sweat.

Whether you're finally starting that health kick or you're a hardened gym warrior, this is the Note 7 case for you.

Have you tried all these products? I bought a Caseology Envoy case for my S7 Edge and am generally pleased with it. But the very thin edges caused by the curved screen mean that the side protection can move, almost 'click', back occasionally when I'm holding the phone. This means the case's buttons move with respect to the phone's buttons. It's hardly a major problem, but it is quite irritating.

I suspect that most, if not all, cases will behave in this manner due to the dimensional constraints the curved sreen, and hence very thin edge, impose on case design.

I have the caseology envoy case and it looks and works great. The tempered glass screen protectors is another story you basically have to choose between a case or screen protector. I don't think this writer has tried any of these thing's out at all.

£2:99 Inc del eBay, has screen cover flap built in, lux pleather surround with correct apertures and landscape prop stand for footy in the pub jaunts.

The additional lenses option looks fun, one of few things I would read an in-depth camera test review about. HINT.

Have you tried ANY of these products? Or even looked at the amazon pages? Some of them have very negative reviews and 2 star ratings. bad article.

Not a trusted review. The Spigen Note 7 screen protector is poor (like this article - if you choose to call yourself "trusted").
