Rampage III Gene Micro-ATX Motherboard

Finally we come to what we feel is the most exciting entrant in this ROG showcase: Asus' ROG Rampage III Gene Micro-ATX Motherboard. Not to be confused with the Maximus III Gene, this board is based on Intel's X58 rather than its P55 chipset, so it offers support for socket 1366 Core i7 processors and comes with three memory slots for triple-channel performance.

Quite simply, this is the most feature-packed Micro-ATX motherboard we have ever seen. In addition to all the overclocking goodness and features found on the Maximus III Gene (such as ROG Connect for remote overclocking), it offers USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gb/s. Of course, like any self-respecting gamer's board it also supports maximum-speed CrossFire and SLI.

Not only is it packed with more performance, ports and features than you have any right to expect from a motherboard this small, but the Rampage III Gene also looks the part of a killer motherboard, with a very attractive colour scheme and aggressive angles.

Basically, if we were to build a Micro-ATX gaming system in the near future, this would probably be the board we would use based on the feature-set alone. Hopefully we'll soon find out how its performance holds up in a proper review.
