The iPad 2 launched today, 25 March, in the UK. It can play existing iPhone and original iPad apps, but a handful of on-the-ball developers have already gone and packed-in iPad 2 improvements to their wares.
New features that unlock new app potential include the device's dual cameras - even if they are of low quality - and the terrifying power of the dual-core A5 processor. Some benchmarks results suggest the iPad 2 has six times the power of its predecessor, and around double the grunt of Tegra 2-powered devices. That sort of power can throw up a whole lotta polygons.
