The iPhone’s onscreen keyboard may be one of the best around, but wouldn’t it be even easier to just talk into your handset and get the phone to translate your voice into text? That’s exactly what Dragon Dictation does. You simply fire it up, press the record button and speak into your handset.

The software then quickly sends the recording over the net to the Nuance servers where it is translated into text and immediately sent back to the phone. The whole process takes mere seconds. Once the text is on your phone you can choose to send it as an email, text message or just copy it to the clip board. The only problem is that it doesn’t work on 2G handsets.

Verdict

Dragon Dictation is fun to use and can be exceedingly useful too. As it’s free, there’s no reason not to download it and give it a try.
