Did you not test the video? Even though this device is more a photocamera, it also shoots Full HD Video. ANd for that, I would assume the autofocus is good enough to shoot video. Alas, I bought this cam due to its more than average imagequality. But the autofocus of the video is crap. It keeps focussing and it takes several seconds before it has focussed. But if you then move the camera to another object, or you are just following your daughter walking across the lane, it keeps refocussing because it does not know exactly what to focus on.

Maybe it's me and there's a setting which prevents this, so please tell me. But otherwise this cam is just to shoot photo's but is terrible for video.

I agree with meanrat. I have not yet found a way to stop the autofocus in video mode having a mind of its own and periodically trying to refocus. I have this problem in good light with the camera resting on a surface taking a video of my daughter sat in a chair. My previous old digital camera fixed the focus when video mode was engaged - and believe it or not this produced better video's.
