How do people with stereo-blindness cope with VR? Any idea?

April 12, 2016, 7:33 pm

They don't. Good friend of mine is stereo blind, and its no different than trying to watch 3d in a theater. You'll get double vision, and your brain will constantly try to resolve the issue like it does in real life, but can't with a VR image that is only 2 inches away from your face).

So long story short, if you have issues with polarized 3d at the theaters, you'll have similar with this setup. :(

Screw valve. I won't ever support that fat lying bastard gabe newell so it's Oculus Rift for me.
I really hope Oculus Rift completely destroys vive.

State of Psychosis

If you're an adventure gamer, get the Oculus. A lot of their games are puzzle/adventure games so far and they even have a section that I just saw pop up that's dedicated to puzzlers. The Touch controls seem to be geared towards object interactivity more so than the vive's controllers as well. Plus, the guys who did myst are releasing a game called Obduction by the end of August and it's confirmed that there's going to be an Oculus version but no word on the Vive yet. If that's not a sign that the Oculus is going to be the one where the most adventure games are at, I don't know what is :P I'm hoping they go more turn based with their RPG's as well.

"you can't simply add another card as the Rift doesn't support SLI or Crossfire configurations"

Anyone has more intel on that ? I find it surprising since SLI works great with resolution higher than HD (wqhd or uhd) in 'most' of my games.

I appreciate this is not the same, but related: I have the Rift CV1. One of my neighbors is blind in one eye and so is my friend’s son - they have both tried it and loved it, particularly my friend’s son (aged 11) who has never stopped talking about it. I wouldn’t rule it out – so try before you buy, or don’t buy.

Those with motion sickness should avoid any VR. I tried the google cardboard and got very sic after a few minutes. It will be just as bad with the occuus rift.

Tech is great but support is among the worst I have ever come across. Email only & have never heard back from weeks old issues. No phone or chat support so left to dangle with emails that never get response. Enough to go HTC Vive or any other option at this point.
