I bought one of these a few days ago
The first thing I did was to replace the SuSE Linux SLED10.1 with Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex.
SLED is user hostile compared to ubuntu, as proved when trying to install skype (missing dependencies problem). A doddle with Ubuntu.
Pretty good with ubuntu althouhg the machine does seem to run fairly hot - esp when operated on a soft surface (presumambly that's becuase air vents get blocked). It is almost silent though.
Bettery life is a little low but from what I've read 1.5 hours is about normal for a 3 cell machine - even with the atom processor. The EEEpc series have larger 4 or 6 cell packs.
