For testing the good folk at Zepto, the Danish notebook specialists, sent us a Penryn equipped Znote 3415W. Powered by the aforementioned Intel Core 2 Duo T9300, it also features a 512MB nVidia 8600M GT, 2GB 667MHz DDR2 RAM and a 160GB 7200rpm SATA HDD. Utilising a 15.4in 1,280 x 800 display, with Wireless-N, a Samsung DVD+/-RW optical drive and with 12 month warranty, it'll set you back in the region of £986. Zepto also offers a more or less unprecedented level of configurability at often very competitive prices.

For comparison we've used a number of systems we've reviewed, giving us a nice cross-section of configurations and CPU speeds with which to judge how the T9300 compares against the 65nm Merom CPUs:
- Dell XPS M1530 - Reviewed December 21st 2007.
- HP Pavilion dv2699 Special Edition - Reviewed February 11th 2008.
- Rock X770 T7700 - Reviewed September 21st 2007.
- Rock X770 T7800-8800 - Reviewed November 22nd 2007.
For reference, each system's key components are listed below:

Testing methodology is consistent with our usual notebook testing, with PCMark 05, PCMark Vantage, our in-house Photoshop Elements and Virtual Dub tests and Mobile Mark 2007 making up the full suite of tests.
So, without further ado let's start by taking a look at the PCMark 05 results.
