CeBIT 2007: Asus Notebook Round-up Part One

After the recent successes of the U1F and the Lamborghini VX2 things are looking up for the Asus notebook range, and it's not about to stop there either. Asus is showing off a number of new ranges at CeBIT this year, and naturally we were there to scope them out.

First out of the blocks is the Rugged Military Notebook, the company's take on the tough notebook market. Bearing no small resemblance to the Panasonic ToughBook CF-19, this notebook is reputedly as tough as they come. Featuring a sunreadable, touchscreen 13.3in widescreen display, backlit keyboard, in-built GPS and wireless with processors running up to a 1.6GHz Core 2 Duo, it's certainly not lacking in other departments either.

Continuing its love of leather finishes, Asus will be releasing another ultra-light range featuring two different leather finishes – pink and brown. Weighing in at just 1.74kg, the W6Fp is certainly an eye catching design.

There's a 13.3in widescreen display, Bluetooth and ships with a choice of Core 2 Duo T7600, T7400, T7200, T5600 and T5500 processors, hard drives up to 160GB and 512MB DDR2 RAM. Vista Business Edition is the operating system of choice.

Next on the hit parade is the W7J, a sleek all white number that once again sports a 13.3 widescreen display and Windows Vista Business. Processor options are Core 2 Duo T7600, T7400, T7200, T5600 and T5500s with Nvidia Go7400 graphics for a little extra performance. Hard drive options end at 160GB, with a potential 1536MB of RAM to play with too.
