Packard Bell Unveils Gaming Notebook With 'Attitude'

A 17 inch gaming notebook is hardly a new concept in "mobile" computing, but when it has a "street art cover" with "attitude" that "shows the crossover between video game culture and graffiti culture" it's time to down tools and get writing.

Packard Bell's iPower GX will, like any decent gaming notebook, feature a 1,920 x 1,200 display and aside from its street cred destroying urban stylings, it'll come packed with some pretty serious hardware. This will include an nVidia 9800M GTS with 1GB dedicated GDDR3 video memory, but more interestingly Intel's first Quad Core mobile processor, the Core 2 Quad Q9100.

This system, which in its highest spec can produce a 3DMark 06 score of 9,000 points, will also be available with an optional Blu-ray drive and feature Draft-N wireless. It'll be available in October with an estimated retail price of 1,499 Euros and though it seems to be possessed by the spirit of Poochie the Rockin' Dog, it does at least have some substance to back it up.
