Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Launched

Of all the netbooks yet to hit the market, Dell's was probably the one most awaited. I say was, because as of today (allowing up to 15-days for delivery) the Inspiron Mini 9 is now available to buy. Assuming you haven't already bitten the bullet and plumped for an Asus, MSI or Acer.

On the surface the Mini 9 isn't exactly any more imposing than any other netbook, so lets dellve (get it?) inside:
- 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU
- 1GB DDR2 (533MHz) RAM
- 16GB solid state drive
- 8.9in, 1,024 x 600 display
- Ethernet, Bluetooth, 801.11b/g WiFi
- Three USB 2.0 ports, VGA output, 3-in-1 card reader
- 4-cell, 32Whr battery
- ~1Kg (with battery installed)
Another US-only deal is the temporary offer of a Mini 9 for a mere $99 if purchased alongside a Studio 15, M1530 or M1330 notebook. Colour us jealous of that particular proposal.
Dell lists the Mini 9 at £279, but as shipping of £20 (seriously?) is required, we might as well all just call it £300 and be done. That’s a tad more expensive than other offerings, so hopefully Dell has done something miraculous with the build quality of its system to justify that extra cost - that being a feature still left wanting on many other netbooks.
We'll be taking a look at a Mini 9 as soon as possible and giving you the full low-down.
