LG's Netbook Offering Arrives October

If DigiTimes' sources are to be relied on, LG may not be standing on its own as one of few major notebook manufacturers not entering the netbook market after all. Supposedly the Korean company's offering is set to be arrive in October and will be called the X110.

Unsurprisingly the X110 will be based on Intel's Atom processor and sport an 8.9in screen which will almost certainly boast a 1,024 x 600 resolution. Windows XP is expected to be the operating system of choice, although LG is considering a Linux option of some sort. Further, LG will apparently be fitting its systems with 2GB of RAM and a 120GB hard drive, more than any rival product. Pricing is likely to take a step or two in the wrong direction because of those increased specs, though.
There is some implication that MSI will be manufacturing the X110 for LG. Given the Wind's model number is the U110, that might mean that LG will in fact simply be putting its own spin on MSI's product - in the style of the Advent 4211. The similar names could just be a co-incidence, though.
This party is getting awfully crowded!
