All Acer's laptops ship with Vista (Service Pack 1), although the TravelMates do also have an XP 'recovery' disc in the box, allowing users to roll back should they so wish. Availability isn't known for sure, but apparently there are ships and planes bringing pallets over right now, so it shouldn't be too long before the systems start shipping in the UK.

Do I spy HD-DVD playback on the 2930? Is this a pre-production model or the result of Acer supporting the wrong side in the format war?

Comment Hugo said on 19th July 2008

The production version I saw at the press event didn't have this, so I'd chalk it up as a mistake.
