I think that's a fair assessment and as you say, configurations for the A300 do differ somewhat in the UK - though personally I don't care for design whatever might be inside.

Instead of comparing the new dell's with Qosmio, it simply looks like Dell is playing catchup with the A305 and P305 series. Which in their higher configurations come with either a ATI 3470 with 256MB or a ATI 3650 with 512MB. And Core 2 Duos 8100 at 2.1GHz.
Toshiba UK are only selling the low specification A305/P305 machines, I was dissapointed when Trusted reviews was given a low end integrated graphics A305 to review. when my US sourced A305 is ATI powered at about the same price, and has near gaming laptop performance.
The price difference in the US between a low specification laptop and a high one, is a few hundred $$$.
