I'm not sure I haven't done this line to death already, but small, light, yet powerful notebooks are a particular favourite among us TR staff types; so seeing yet another manufacturer unveil its offering in the market is always a good thing. Today's contender is the P300 from LG and it looks set to check all the right boxes.

Up first is the 13.3in LED backlit screen, always a good sign, with the expected 1,280 x 800 resolution. Internally, we find a 2.4GHz, T7700, nVidia 6400M graphics and 2GB of DDR2 RAM. Storage comes in the form of a 250GB hard drive and LG has also included a turbo memory module, which is a nice touch. Draft-N wireless is also found, while less practically, but just as importantly there is a choice of funky colours for the chassis - in case tiger-stripe red doesn't do it for you.

Weight wise the P300 is an impressive 1.6Kg, some 400g less than close-rival the Dell XPS M1330, which is always a good thing. In fact, the only major fly in the P300's ointment is that it's currently not available in the UK and no date has been set for a migration to our shores; its native launch isn't scheduled until early next year though, so we may yet see a UK release date.
