Asus’ Lamborghini laptops have gathered a lot of attention since they joined the ranks of Acer’s Ferrari line and Itronix less publicised hook up with Hummer and now details are out on the latest model.

The VX2 (which I previewed last month) has finally become specalicious and while the VX1 was a little underpowered considering it sported such a famous name the VX2 rights any wrongs.

For a start the model now comes with a 15.4in WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050) widescreen display to provide masses of desktop real estate there’s an oomphy Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 (2.16GHz) CPU at its core and nVidia’s GeForce Go 7700 appears with a mountainous 512MB of dedicated VRAM (take that Vista!). A 160GB HDD as well as Draft N wireless, a 1.3MP webcam and DVI out further broaden my smile.

UK prices aren’t available yet (traditionally Asus tends to leave them until the last minute) but we know the VX2 will set you back around £1,599 in Asia. Expect that to creep up by the time it roars over to these shores but finally know you have a potential Ferrari basher on your hands…

Update: Check out this wonderful finishing touch pointed out by Interface Solution Asus product guru Pete Davies. Thanks for the spot Pete :)
