With a familiar sensation of déjà vu (see what I did there?) Asus has announced a successor to its VX1 Lamborghini laptop and – once again – held back on the specs.

Of course this could be cause for some concern since, after some considerable delay, the VX1 turned out to be more respectable coupe than Italian super car but I can at least say the exterior has received a suitable makeover.

While the exterior remains beautifully minimalist, the inside now sports a full metallic keyboard and the palm rest is bound in leather in a manner that suggests classy rather than tacky. A range of Core 2 Dup processors will prove the horsepower and the machine is Centrino branded. Like many of Asus’ laptops a 1.3MP webcam is built into the top of the screen bezel.

The only other detail Asus is letting slip at this stage is that the VX2 will ship with Vista and since it would be embarrassing for a Lamborghini branded laptop not to be powerful enough to run the much hyped Aero interface I suspect a minimum of a 128MB graphics card will have made its way into the final shake up.

No price or availability details have been revealed but we suspect the launch of Vista is going to drive the VX2 out sooner rather than later (see what I did there? Wow, I’m revved up today… Haha! See what I did there? It’s like a gift that just keeps giving).
