Back in August when Sony announced there would be No More Battery Recalls you have to wonder just what it was smoking. Since this ill-founded statement Toshiba and Lenovo have hauled back close to a million Sony batteries while Dell asked us for a further 100,000 and now here’s Fujitsu…

It is only the great humanitarian in me that gave me the will to re-type all of those, well that and my desire to protect the crotches and thus the propagation of our species.

Despite the recall Fujitsu claims it has not had any specific instances of its machines spontaneously combusting but it is playing ball with the impending Sony Initiative For Global Notebook Battery Recalls which should be something truly epic once details are unveiled.

No more battery recalls my butt. This is what happens when don't do a job yourself...

Update 06.10.06:
Stick Hitachi on this ever growing list. 16,000 batteries recalled as of today. Ho hum.
