rock must be a fun place to work if the UK notebook maker’s latest dual announcement is anything to go by…

Unveiled at a swanky do in The Play Room in Soho towards the end of last week, is the Pegasus 665 ‘Cannonball Special Edition – Co-Pilot Live’. This high end machine features an Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 processor (4MB cache, 2.33GHz), nVidia GeForce Go 7600 graphics card with 256MB VRAM, a gig of DDR2, 120GB hard drive and a 15.4in 1280 x 800 display.

What marks out the Cannonball aspect however is not just the custom lid finish but the bundled Co-Pilot Live Laptop software (including a Bluetooth GPS receiver). A total price of £1,399 including VAT is reasonable too; though you can save yourself £200 since rock lets you drop Co-Pilot should you possess a strong sense of direction.

Now I said at the start of this article there were two announcements which suggest rock is a company which sees the lighter side of life and aspiring Schumacher and rock CEO Nick Boardman provided the other. He declared that he has teamed up with Paul Shenton of Intel UK to take part in the Cannonball 8000 Rally from London to Budapest!

The pair of petrol heads will be driving a co-sponsored Porsche 911 GT3 and since they’re taking one of the Co-Pilot enabled laptops with them you’ll be able to track their speed camera testing progress live here.

Technology, see… it is sexy!
