Just 11 days ago I gave the heads up on rock’s flagship T2700 based Xtreme CTX but suggested it could be a case of ‘before the Lord Mayor’s show’. Well, here is the Lord Mayor himself.

All suited up in the same casing as the Xtreme CTX, the Xtreme CTX Pro (above) gets a boost to Intel’s latest (and possibly greatest) range of processors while its more mobile cousin, the Pegasus 665 – based on the 650 shell (below), also makes the jump. The exact model of CPU in each will be left up to the consumer.

Naturally enough, the Pro retains its flagship status by backing up its second gen dual core horsepower with a 17in WUXGA (1920 x 1200) X-Glass screen and nVidia GeForce Go 7900GTX graphics card. The Pegasus 665 provides a more mobile solution with the 3.1Kg model sporting a 15.4in screen and GeForce Go 7600 graphics though the nitty gritty on both lappies has been left out at this early stage.

Rock promises to provide us with more than these bare bones (including price and availability) in the week beginning 28 August. In the mean time enjoy your CTX’s and exploit that 28 day money back guarantee.

Oh and yes, I did say ‘lappies’ - lappies, lappies, lappies - because Spode couldn’t get enough signatures on his petition (but you are NEVER going to say it again - ed.).

What about: http://www.lappies.co.uk/, http://www.lappies.com/ and http://www.lappies.net/, we're an army... you can't stop us all :)
