You just knew it wouldn’t be long before the Dell monster produced its own Go 7800 GTX leviathan, well here it is.

Branded under the nay-infamous “XPS” tag, the new Inspiron M170 shoves the aforementioned graphical powerhouse alongside a Pentium M 770 (2.13GHz or 780 processor (2.26GHz), 2GB of DDR2 RAM (free upgrade), a 100GB HDD and lovely 17in 1920 x 1200 widescreen display. Everything that should be there is there: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DVI and S-Video out, dual layer DVD rewriter, blah, blah.
In fact, the stats make it very similar to machines we’ve recently seen touted by AJP and Evesham, but that’s simply because they’re all top of the line. The Dell will set you back from £1,843 (incl. VAT), but – like the other two – can be specced well beyond two grand. Delivery is £59.58, which we thought it could wave considering you’re shelling out enough to buy a second hand Fiat, but hey what’s another sixty quid when you’ve already decided to take out a second mortgage?!
The Inspiron M170 XPS is available immediately and if you’re going to buy one, know one thing: I hate you.
