Dell announced yesterday that it is introducing an Inspiron notebook with a 17in widescreen display. This is a follow up to the Dell Inspiron 9100 we reviewed here, which had a 15.4 inch display. Its standard resolution will be WXGA+ or 1,440 x 900 with an option to upgrade to WUXGA, (1,920 x 1600). This makes it superb for putting up multiple documents at the same time.

The Inspiron 9200 is a Centrino based notebook with graphics powered by an ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 featuring 128MB of dedicated memory. Up to 2GB of RAM can be fitted and connectivity includes 54G wireless, 10/100 Ethernet, and Bluetooth. There are four USB 2.0 ports and Firewire, with both S-vidoe and DVI outputs. A hard disk of up to 100MB can be fitted as can a dual-layer DVD Writer. The largish design weighs in at 3.5Kg.

Pricing hadn’t been announced at time of writing.
