30p a day is about £9.00 a month and since 3 have been offering unlimited web access for £5 a month for quite some time I find it difficult to understand why Gordon is so excited. BTW Gordon what happened to the 3 plan you wrote about that was to include unlimited voice calls to other 3 subscribers and 1GB of internet for £15 a month? According to you it was to launch on 1 November?? They seemed to have lost the 1GB part of the deal last time I looked at their site. http://www.trustedreviews.com/mobile-phones/news/2008/10/09/3-To-Introduce--15pm-Unlimited-Minutes--amp--SMS-Tariff/p1
@timple, I'm not sure, but could it be because you can pay for it by the day, eg. If you only used the internet 5 days in a month, It's only £1.50. But if your using everyday then the 3's £5 month is a much better proposal.

@keith....I think that's it. 30p a day, so if you only need it a couple of days a month then its a good deal. Nice to see its for both contract and PAYT. Can see the other telcos coming up with new offerings soon. Come on Vodafone !
@timple - yes, but NO ONE would use this as an everyday system - it is for those people who need access now and again. Until now occasional users have had to pay approx. £1 per day for access, so I think you rather miss the point.
Secondly, I understand 3's first plan to take advantage of this will now come with the launch of the INQ1 scheduled for December - so keep an eye out. Once available on that phone the plan should become available on other handsets (though not sure why you'd want any other pre-pay handset once you've tried it!).
Not one of the sites reporting this news has sufficiently investigated to realise that Virgin currently offer the Bites service free to contract users, and those users will therefore now effectively have £9 added to their bill if they continue to use the service in the same way.
This is a major price hike to what should be the most valued customers.
